Learn how to integrate your Mailgun SMTP in ClickFunnels to send emails through follow-up funnels and funnel automations.
If you are looking to setup an Email Integration (SMTP) to use in ClickFunnels and have chosen to use Mailgun, this article will teach you how to set up and connect your new Mailgun SMTP.
What you will need
- A Mailgun Account
Note: you must have a credit card on file with Mailgun to connect via API.
Step 1. Add A Domain in Mailgun
- From within your Mailgun account, click "Add New Domain."
- Enter your Domain name (Mailgun Suggests utilizing a subdomain such as mg.yourdomain.com).
- Open your DNS Zone Editor (ClickFunnels is shown in the example).
- Create a TXT record for your SPF settings.
- Copy your hostname without your domain and paste it into the Name input.
- Copy your SPF record and paste it into the Value input.
- Press Save.
- Create a TXT record for your DKIM settings.
- Copy your hostname without your domain and paste it into the Name input.
- Copy your DKIM and paste it into the Value input.
- Press Save.
Step 2. Add Your MX Records
- Create Two MX Records.
- Enter mg into the name input.
- Enter mxa.mailgun.org into the first MX record Value input.
- Enter mxb.mailgun.org into the second MX record Value input.
- Press Save.
- Create a CNAME.
- Enter email.mg into the Name input.
- Enter mailgun.org into the Value Input.
- Press Save.
- Back in Mailgun, Verify your DNS records.
Note: DNS settings may take up to 48 hours to update.
Step 3. Setting up your SMTP Settings
- Title - The name of your integration. This is for your reference only. This can be anything that you like.
- From Name - This is the name that will display in the user's email client when they receive an email from you.
- From Email - This email should belong to the same domain that you verified previously.
- SMTP Server - This will be smtp.mailgun.org
- Port - Enter 587.
- SMTP User - This should be postmaster@yourdomain.com
- SMTP Password - Your Mailgun generated password
- SMTP Domain - This is the domain that you verified. Insert only the domain name. Do not use www, http, or https.
- Domain - Domain within your ClickFunnels account (make sure this domain is verified and secured with SSL for proper sending).
- Address - Enter your business's physical address
- SMTP Footer - Your SMTP Footer is the information that will be included in the footer of all your emails. This footer area supports HTML code.
- Click Verify Email settings on the right-hand side of the SMTP settings page
- Select Default SMTP if this will be your default SMTP integration
- Select Save SMTP Integration
