My first email is not going out/is not being delivered after opting in? (From Auto-Responder)
When using a 3rd party auto-responder, many times, the first email that is set to go out immediately is not delivered. Assuming that everything is integrated correctly, in most cases, this is due to a setting in the auto-responder/email list that is referred to as a "Double Opt-In" or "Confirm Opt-In".
When this setting is enabled, people who opt-in and are added to the assigned email list will not receive the first email. Instead, they will receive an email asking them to confirm that they are agreeing to receive emails from you. If they do not confirm in that email, they will never receive the sequence of emails/messages that are set to be delivered.
Here's an example of a Confirmation Email using Aweber as a reference:
Solution:
In order to prevent confirmation emails from going out and having your first email/message go out instead, the Confirm/Double Opt-In setting must be disabled. Doing so will convert it into a
"Single Opt-In" setting.
A single opt-in means that contacts will not be asked to confirm their subscription to your list. Once they submit your form, subscribers are added as “Active” contacts to your list right away.
Below you will find several direct links to the step-by-step guides on how to enable the Single Opt-In setting for a few of the most commonly used 3rd party auto-responders ClickFunnels integrates with.
