How to Create Custom Events With the Facebook Pixel

Sometimes you will feel the need to create a custom event in Facebook that is not already listed. This article will show you how to do that using the Facebook Pixel.

Once you have copied your Facebook pixel, paste it in the header Tracking Code of the page.

• Settings tab > Tracking Code > Header Code

Copy the following from the code: fbq('track', 'PageView');

Paste it in the line below and change the 'PageView' to whatever you want your Custom Conversion to be.

Don't forget to press Save!

Preview the page. If you're using the Facebook Pixel Helper extension, you'll notice the new event is being triggered.

A few minutes later you'll see your new conversion event in Data Sources > Create Custom Conversion.

And that's it! it's that simple.
