Tag Contacts Based on Custom Field Selections
Challenge:
We're opening a new franchise location and want to be able to allow people to select their nearest location from a dropdown in our main opt-in form so they can be put on the right email list.
The one essential step:
Right now, we can collect this as custom data (per funnel), but cannot tag contacts based on this data. The funnel's Automation tab has a "Condition" field that only has the "Everyone" option. This may be one place to pull and display this data once it's created in the funnel.
Platinum users: The other option would be to add it to the set of contact parameters inside of Followup Funnels when creating a filter for an internal funnel step.
Here's an example of the logic:
- Automation: If "Your Nearest Location" = Boca Raton, then add tag "Boca Raton"
- If Contact has tag "Boca Raton", then add to "Boca Raton" email list
Global/Universal Forms
It would also be amazing to have this form with its custom field as a global element across the account. I know there's a "Saved Sections" feature that sort of accomplishes this; however, if the form exists in multiple places and looks different in each place, keeping track of each form and updating the drop-down options in each one of the same custom fields would become a repetitive task. Hubspot is one platform that does this really well since forms can take on the style of the pages they sit on.
